The pueblo of Playa Troncones is a small, uncrowded beach village located about 30 KM northwest of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.  Tucked in between the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the area has the best of both worlds with much to do and explore.  Hammocks can be found swaying under palms in most yards, chickens roam the streets, and there is a calm sense of equilibrium.  It’s a special place to come and relax and feel the mountain breezes kiss the sea.  It truly has become a quiet get-away destination for international artists, writers and musicians such as the British artist Damien Hurst, writer Jon Krakauer and film director, Julian Schnable, as well as many renowned musicians.

You can find beautiful luxury boutique hotels and fine restaurants operated by trained chefs from all over the world as well as small quaint family-style restaurants with local fresh seafood and the traditional food of Mexico.

The integration between the expatriate and local community is exceptional and not known elsewhere in Mexico.  Many businesses and individuals are committed to nature, maintaining local culture and the environment.  We truly work together on projects such as regular beach clean-ups and turtle conservation projects.

Once you arrive, you will experience more than what you will find on our website.  There is so much to do in the area from world-class surfing, swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, bird watching, and hiking to waterfalls and hot springs, and short trips to the more historic centers of Mexico such as Patzcuaro, the place to experience the Day of the Dead festivities in late October.
